Mr. Lopez holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of the East and attended the Program for Management Development at Harvard University. He is the Chairman of Rockwell Land Corp. and Soluziona Phils., Inc. He is a Director of First Philippine Holdings Corp., Benpres Holdings Corp. and First Private Power Corp.

Felipe B. Alfonso
Vice Chairman
(June 2001-present)

Mr. Alfonso holds a bachelor of laws degree from the Ateneo de Manila University and an MBA from New York University. He is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Asian Institute of Management (AIM), and Executive Director of the Ramon V. del Rosario, Sr. AIM Center for Corporate Responsibility, among other positions and affiliations. In 1997, he received the Asian Regional and Training Organization (ARTDO) Asia Pacific HRD Award for Individual Achievement in the field of human resources and training.

Jesus P. Francisco
President & COO and Director

Mr. Francisco is a mechanical and an electrical engineering graduate of the University of the Philippines in Diliman in 1963 and 1966, respectively. He earned his master’s degree in business management from the Asian Institute of Management in 1971. He completed the International Senior Manager’s Program in 1982 which is an off-campus management program of Harvard Business School in Vevey, Switzerland and the Strategic Business Economics Program in 1986 at the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P). He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Miescor, Meralco’s engineering, construction and industrial services subsidiary; and a Director of other Meralco and Miescor subsidiaries.


Bernardino R. Abes

Mr. Abes holds a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Santos Tomas. He is currently the Chairman of the Government Service Insurance System. He was a former Administrator of the Social Security System, Chairman of the Social Security Commission and a Director of the Philippine Stock Exchange. Mr. Abes also served the government as Secretary of Labor from 1962-1964.

Ms. Arce holds a bachelor of laws degree from the Ateneo de Manila University and bachelor degree in psychology from the University of Sto. Tomas. She is a Director of Philippine Telegraph & Telephone Corp. and Corporate Secretary of Export & Industry Bank (EIB), EIB Realty Development Corp., EIB Securities, and Valuegen Insurance. She is the External Counsel & Secretary to the Market Integrity Board of the Philippine Stock Exchange.


Winston F. Garcia

Mr. Garcia holds a bachelor of laws degree from San Beda College, an associate in arts degree from South Western University, and bachelor of philosophy degree from the University of Sto. Tomas. He is currently the President & General Manager and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Government Service Insurance System. He is the Chairman of the National Reinsurance Corp. of the Philippines, GSIS Mutual Fund Inc., and Asean Forum Inc. Mr. Garcia also sits on the board of San Miguel Corp., Philippine National Construction Corp., and Philippine Health Insurance Corp.

Christian S. Monsod

A member of Philippine Bar, Mr. Monsod earned his bachelor of laws degree from the University of the Philippines and MA in economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1963 where he was a university scholar. He also earned his doctor of laws and doctor of humanities honoris causa from Ateneo de Manila University in 1995 and 1993, respectively. He was a 1975 TOYM (Ten Outstanding Young Men) awardee and was awarded Man of the Year in 1992 by the Catholic Educators Association of the Philippines. He was given a special citation for leadership and invaluable contribution to democracy development and peace by the Aurora Aragon Quezon (Concerned Women of the Philippines) and another special citation for exemplary performance in government service by the Joaquin “Chino” Roces Foundation.

Artemio V. Panganiban

Chief Justice Artemio V. Panganiban was a member of the Supreme Court of the Philippines from 1995 to 2006. He graduated in 1960 from the Far Eastern University with a bachelor degree in laws and in the same year, placed 6th at the Bar Examinations. He is an Independent Director of GMA Network, Inc., First Philippine Holdings Corp., and Metro Pacific Investments Corp. as well as Senior Adviser of the Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company.

Vicente L. Panlilio

Mr. Panlilio graduated in 1969 from the University of the Philippines with a bachelor degree in economics. He attended the Asian Institute of Management for the Advanced Bank Management Program. He has been Director of San Fernando Light & Power Co. since 2003 and a Trustee of TSPI Development Corp. (microfinance) since 2004. he was formerly the chief operating officer and member of the advisory board at the Far East Bank & Trust Company from 1974 to 2000.

Mr. Virata has held positions in government as Prime Minister from 1981 to 1986 and Chairman of the Committee on Finance of Batasang Pambansa (National Assembly) from 1978 to 1986.
