The Account Management Office

The office was originally organized last July 1997 to provide information to management on the value of self-generation to customers having loads higher than 1 MW. It has now evolved into an organization that provides specialized handling and value-added service to the large and very large customers.

The account officer (AO) is currently the designated direct link of this core group of customers to Meralco. To the customer, the AO becomes the face of Meralco. He acts as a mediator and facilitator between the customer and the Meralco offices to which the customer may have specific concerns. He also personifies the caring and responsive Meralco to the customer, acting as a capable business and industry partner.

The AO provides the customer with information on Meralco’s long-term directions. This information is often used as basis for the customer’s corporate strategies. On the other hand, the AO also feeds Meralco with the much-needed customer inputs needed for it to fine-tune and operationalize its plans to provide adequate, reliable and efficient electric service.
