This course introduces the participants to the basic design and construction standards on electric facility for industrial and commercial industries. This may involve – (1) overhead distribution, (2) underground distribution, (3) overhead sub-transmission, and (4) substation.

Customer Service Standards for Electric Utilities

This course discusses the complete set of Customer Service Standards for distribution utilities based on the Philippine Electrical Code and regulatory requirements to ensure a common approach in design, execution, performance and quality standards for reliable and safe electric service connection.

Local Power System Stability and Power Flow Analysis

This course focuses on the study of localized distribution network or microgrid with customer embedded generators with particular emphasis on the study of network behavior under steady-state and disturbance conditions. Where applicable, numerical examples are used to reinforce the course materials covered. Incorporated in the discussions are inputs from local and international cases.

This course illustrates the theories and principles of power quality in a utility or large customer facility setting and their impact on the reliability and efficiency of the system. Incorporated in the discussions are inputs from International Standards (NEC, NEMA, ANSI, IEC Standards, IEEE Recommended Practices, etc.), PDC, PEC, IEEE publications with actual cases.

Line Design Engineering

This course covers the basic concepts and principles in the design of distribution lines based on source and load centers, terrain, voltage drop and regulation, distribution transformer sizing/loading, fuse rating and other protection, conductor sizing, sag and tension, pole loading and mechanical support. This will also consider local standards and the PEC code, industry regulations and other requirements.

Power System Analysis, Modeling and Load Flow

This course provides in-depth study of Power System Modeling, Short Circuit Calculations and Load Flow. Solar PV Bootcamp

This 5 day comprehensive training will cover how solar photovoltaic (PV) systems work, how they are designed, how to predict output of a system, and how systems are installed. The program will cover the fundamentals of PV and interrelation of voltage, current, power and energy (which is very different from the conventional electric systems). Discussions will include economics and expected payback period of PV installations. Participants will determine how to calculate for variables, such as roof slope, weather patterns, shading, tilt angles, and temperature effects on voltage and equipment variables.

Advanced Solar PV Bootcamp

This 5 day comprehensive training will cover advanced design and techniques for industrial, commercial and utility grade level of solar PV.  It will also focus on sample design plans, system protection and coordination, environmental/site installation and structure consideration, operation and maintenance for the efficient and long term reliability and safety of the solar PV system.

This 3 day comprehensive training will discuss the business case, key concepts, process, method and approach in establishing an energy efficiency program in a target company following the standard provisions under ISO 50001.
