Meralco receives Asian Excellence Recognition Awards
Meralco received international recognition for its investor communications, corporate social responsibility (CSR) and financial performance at the 2nd Asian Excellence Recognition Awards 2012. The Company’s awards are Best Investor Relations Company and Best CSR. Moreover, Meralco First Vice President, Treasurer and Head of Investment Management, Mr. Rafael L. Andrada was recognized as Asia’s Best CFO, specifically in the field of Investor Relations.

Meralco releases the Filipino Version of its Revised Code of Ethics
Management announced the release of the Revised Code of Ethics in Filipino, entitled "Ang Binagong Kodigo ng Etika: Pamantayan ng Pag-uugali at Etika sa Paggawa," on January 27, 2012. The document was reviewed and approved by the Chairman of the Board, Mr. Manuel M. Lopez and President and CEO, Mr. Manuel V. Pangilinan on January 17, 2012.

Meralco confirms its Compliance with Corporate Governance Manual to SEC
MERALCO submitted to SEC its Certification on compliance with the Manual of Corporate Governance on January 24, 2012. This complies with the provision in SEC’s Revised Code of Corporate Governance for the Company’s Compliance Officer to issue a certification every January 30th on the extent of the Company’s compliance for the completed year.

The Board of Directors participated in a Governance Enhancement course on November 28, 2011, on Regulatory Process and Related Issues on MERALCO's business, as part of its mandate to constantly update itself on evolving structures, legislative framework and regulations of the electric industry. MANILA, PHILIPPINES, 22nd FEBRUARY 2010 – Manila Electric Company ("MERALCO") (PSE: MER) today announced that its Consolidated Core Net Income, which excludes one-time, exceptional charges, stood at Pesos 7.0 billion, which is 169% better than the Core Net Income in 2008 of Pesos 2.6 billion.
