Business Service

Applying for business service follows a different procedure from a residential application.

First, determine your applied load. Once you know how much power your establishment will require, you will need to do either of the following:

  • For loads less than 50 kW (General Service), contact the engineer from the Meralco Business Center that covers your area For loads of 50 kW or more (General Power), contact the Sales Engineer from the Meralco Sales Offices that serves your area
  • To find out which Business Center/Sales Office your area belongs to, as well as its location, you can call our Call Center at 16211 or proceed to the following link for the List of MERALCO Business Centers and Sales Offices.

General Service

(Note: It is best to do both steps 1 and 2 simultaneously in order to facilitate the service application process)

  1. Submit an application through any of the following means:
    • a. Addressing a duly signed letter request (w/letter head of the company) to the proper Business Center
    • b. Submitting the downloadable application form to the proper Business Center
      • The letter request or application form should contain the following information:
      • a. Your electrical service need
      • b. Owner/applicant information
      • c. Representative information (if application will be coursed through an authorized representative, preferably a licensed electrician or electrical engineer)
  2. Submit the requirements listed below. Submitting needed documents earlier will mean early review and processing of your application.
    • Electrical Plans
    • Original copy of electrical permit
    • Photocopy of Business Documents
    • Photocopy of Documents Establishing the Right to Occupy Premises
    • Original Copy of documents Establishing the Right to Occupy Premises

    For those with an applied load of 300 kW and above, our Sales Engineer will discuss with you the additional requirements in more detail.

  3. Based on your applied load, Meralco will design the facilities you need and estimate the related project costs.
  4. You will be notified of the initial project cost estimates which will be subject to your approval before the project can proceed.

    NOTE: Please get a written approval from Meralco before constructing/installing any electrical facilities for Meralco equipment or connection.

  5. Complete your service entrance and other technical requirements.
  6. While Meralco is preparing the final project design and cost estimates, you should also be completing your service entrance and other technical requirements which may be necessary depending on your type of application. Other technical requirements may be any of the following: metering area (could be a meter center or metering room), transformer vault room, and protective devices. (NOTE: Please get a written approval from Meralco before constructing/installing any electrical facilities for Meralco equipment or connection.)

  7. Upon completion of the final project design and cost estimates, Meralco shall present the Letter Agreement and Contract for Electric Service for your acceptance.
  8. After completing your service entrance, secure a Certificate of Final Electrical Inspection (CFEI) from the city or municipality where your service is located and submit it to Meralco.
  9. Pay the applicable charges simultaneous with or after the submission of CFEI:
    • a. Bill Deposit: Guarantee for payment of bills equivalent to the estimated monthly bill
    • b. If applicable, installation and removal cost
    • c. If applicable, cash advance
    • d. If applicable, difference in cost
  10. After all payments have been settled, you can look forward to the energization of your service.

General Power

(Note: It is advisable to do both steps 1 and 2 simultaneously in order to facilitate the service application process)
