The assumed price of electricity per kilowatt-hour is derived statistically and uses representative rate per bill amount bracket group. These assumed data are updated on a regular basis as deemed necessary by Meralco AppCal application administrators. This computation may vary from the actual consumption and rates reflected in the customer’s Meralco monthly electric bill and therefore, this computation should not be used in any way for billing purposes, complaints or concerns against Meralco. This computation should not be used by the customer to estimate electric consumption of appliances and/or equipment used for non-residential or business or commercial purposes.

Estimated cost per hour = [Rate per kilowatt-hour x (appliance wattage/ 1000)
x 14 hours ]/ 24 hours per day
Example:
For a 6 cubic feet refrigerator for a household with an average monthly bill of P2,500.00.
Cost per hour = [Rate per kilowatt-hour x (appliance wattage/ 1000) x 14 hours] / 24 hours per day
Cost per hour = [P10.50 x (100 watts /1000) x 14 hours]/ 24 hours per day
Cost per hour = [P10.50 x (.10 kilowatt) x 14 hours]/ 24 hours per day
Cost per hour = [P14.70]/ 24 hours per day
Cost per hour = P00.61
Cost per month = P00.61x number of hours used in one month
