The electricity rates for the month of August 2020 will decrease for the fourth straight month, due mainly to the lower costs of electricity supply from the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) and the Independent Power Producers (IPPs). The rate decrease amounts to around P0.2055 per kWh or around P41.00 to the total bill of typical households where power consumption averages 200kWh monthly.

Meralco’s distribution, supply, and metering charges continue to remain unchanged for 5 years. These charges last registered reductions in July 2015.
