Here's everything you need to know to better understand your monthly bill.
Electric Bill Summary
Here’s an overview of your energy consumption, which is the basis of your total bill charges
See the Important Information First
All important payment details are now in bigger, bolder text size, and all found in one section in sky-blue
Customer Account Number (CAN)
Each account holder is provided a 10-digit CAN. This does not expire and is the same every month! Use your Meralco CAN to pay through any of Meralco’s authorized payment partners or when you report a concern. It’s possible for one (1) CAN to have multiple services (or SINs) associated to it.
Bill Computation Summary
Your bill’s Total Amount Due is broken down into 3 main components:
- Remaining Balance from Previous Bill - unpaid dues from previous bills (not including bills under review)
- Charges for this billing period - a detailed summary of the different parts of your bill, including Distribution (the only part that goes to Meralco) and
- Installment Due - showing all unpaid installments that you may have that are already due
Distribution Charge
While there are different electricity charges that appear on your bill, not everything goes to Meralco.
Only the distribution charge, which makes up less than 1/3 of your bill, goes to Meralco.
As a distribution utility, Meralco consolidates and turns over the other charges so you won’t have to worry about other entities collecting from you.
Monthly Consumption Tracker
The consumption chart now covers up to twenty-four (24) months so you can easily compare your present and past consumption to help you budget your expenses.
The average temperature for the month is now included, because this can affect the consumption of cooling appliances like fans, refs and aircons, especially during summer.
