Electricity-network equipment supports reliable and sustainable power.

Our sustainability pillars

Power

Energizing the Nation’s Future through affordable, accessible, reliable, safe, and increasingly sustainable energy.

Providing energy for all, always

Solar panels generate renewable electricity as part of a changing energy system.

Energy is more than a utility—it is the backbone of national growth and resilience. Meralco is leading the country’s transformation toward cleaner, smarter, and more inclusive power systems. By modernizing the grid, investing in renewables, and advancing future-ready technologies, we are securing long-term energy reliability while accelerating the nation’s transition to a low-carbon future.

Meralco Electrification Program

Through the Meralco Electrification Program, we bring light and power to low-income families.

Working hand in hand with the One Meralco Foundation and local governments, we extend electricity to unserved and underserved communities, especially informal settlements and relocation sites that have long been left in the dark. Since the program’s launch, we have energized over 76,000 households—helping families turn on the lights to safer homes, greater opportunities, and brighter futures.

Solar and Microgrid Solutions

We are powering the country’s shift to clean energy with solar solutions that are accessible, scalable, and future-ready.

We have solarized thousands of private, educational, and government institutions nationwide. Expanding beyond our franchise area into the Visayas and Mindanao, we support diverse sectors in advancing their sustainability journeys—helping them cut emissions, boost efficiency, and transition to clean energy.

Beyond businesses, we also bring light to communities long deprived of energy access. Our microgrid solutions in Isla Verde in Batangas and Cagbalete Island in Quezon now provide households with reliable solar power and battery storage. These initiatives reflect our broader commitment to an inclusive energy transition—ensuring that no community is left behind in the journey to a sustainable future.

Energy transition

A Just and Inclusive Transition to Clean Energy

We recognize that the future of energy must be cleaner, more resilient, and more inclusive.

In support of the Department of Energy’s Renewable Portfolio Standards, Meralco has committed to contract 1,500 MW of renewable energy supply and build 1,500 MW of clean energy capacity by 2030.

We are already powering communities and industries with large-scale solar facilities—BulacanSol (65 MW), Currimao Solar (68 MW), and Baras Solar (80 MW). We are likewise advancing MTerra, a landmark 3,500 MWp solar development integrated with a 4,500 MWh battery energy storage system.

At the same time, we continue to explore emerging technologies and diverse energy solutions to strengthen long-term energy security and accelerate decarbonization. By balancing reliability, affordability, and sustainability, we are building a cleaner energy future that benefits both people and the planet.
